We had taken our daughter out for lunch, gone for an hour and a half, totally different outlook upon our return. I'm not used to seeing the back of a building instead of greenery! I already have a large Pittosporum, a Photinia and have a Pyracantha slowly covering the trellis top on the fence so I don't think I shall buy another Griselinia ... famous last words eh?!!!

I have this right in the middle of my Golden border. It flowered this year..I was amazed as I did not realise they flowered. I’m going to give mine a chop thi year, but they are lovely..so fresh looking all winter, and very obliging. They grow fast too. Sorry to hear about your sudden change of aspect Shirley!

Karen, I looked out earlier to see a line of washing! Give me the trees any day ...

Yes, what a disappointment. Never mind, you’ll get your trees/ greenery back somehow.

I bought a Pittosporum yesterday - another shrub to form a screen.

I have the plain lime green one, and have bought this, together with an Escallonia, to grow tall enough (eventually) to hide the view of the bungalow behind us. We came home one day last week to find all the trees in their garden had been cut down ... :o((
