How amazing it is to see plants we call house plants in their native climate. I've had quite a few Dracaenas over the years, maybe reaching 18 inches..haha and look at this!
Wonderful to see Delonix..

I have had a Dracaena maginata for many years now & this year for the first time I've been able to root 5 or 6 cuttings! :)

Bathgate,

Yes, it’s the perfect growing conditions for it. This one usually like more shade.

Stan, it would grow outside in semi shade there.

Janey,

Dracaenas are a very common landscape plants here. They can grow very tall in time.

Balcony,

Most Dracaena species grow very easily from cuttings in summer. I grew a dozen or so cuttings this summer from my Dracaena reflexa ‘Song of India’. It was getting very large in the front yard.

I’ll post pics of my D. Song of India soon.

Thanks. Yes, they grow very well here in shade where I live. There’s a house on my way to work which has many of these Dracaenas on the west side of their house and they look washed-out all the time because in the intense sun.

Inspired,I dragged my plant from the patio out to the yard..keeping it the pot. Its very old..and with pot about 10'?..its lost many a leader over the years..snapping off under its own weight and for decades indoors,it was almost like a vine..leaning on this or that as it grew.
I have the dwarf version, but that is much more tender and ..it almost died on winter on the porch. So,its in the aquarium room indoors. It too is about 30 years old or more and also has had leaders snap off. But it's an impressive near 6' including pot.
