That's a beauty with the slender trunk, reminds me of an Egyptian Palm...

The trunks usually grows very big and robust. This palm could possibly be Roystonea boriquena (Puerto Rican Royal Palm).

Did you see the trunking one in San Jose,Andy? I KNEW IT! knew it could be done..ha.
I hate typing with one hand because the cat is sitting on me. Jeez,she finally got off me...
Anyways,the one in San Jose is the plumose frond..I guess that's the common Royal. It's a good 20'.
I posted that on growingontheedge.net last month.

I know of some in Los Altos growing. I’d like to see the one in San Jose, though. San Jose has a terrific warm climate.
