Passion flower

Janey

By Janey

Passion flower (Passiflora caerulea (Passion flower))

I've managed to train the passionflower further along the dead Ivy stems so it trails down the wall. I'm hoping by next summer, it will cover all the dead Ivy..

Lovely idea, it’ll look beautiful when it’s abundantly flowering! Is that a deep pink rose to the right, Janey?

I just noticed from your previous pic, Janey, it’s a lovely pink sedum.

A very pretty border. I hope my new passion flower establishes as well as yours!

Oh to have a brick wall ... rather than a fence where my Passion Flower pops through to the other side ... good job my neighbour doesn't mind!

Thank you Kate, I've just looked online to see if it's evergreen, I couldn't remember, but not in our northern climes..

Thanks Sheila and Ange. I remember a gardener saying to me once, first it sleeps, then it creeps then it leaps!
That's about right I think, this didn't do much the first year and the snails loved it, then off it went..:))

Nice to share Shirley, this at the top does the same, hangs down the other side, haven't heard anything so far!

I'm sure it will cover the wall a Janey mine has crept all the way along an old wooden fence , we have Ivy growing over our fence from next door the problem is its our fence and the ivy is so think its breaking through ,its not fair ...

Amy, our newish neighbours are letting the Ivy from their garden grow up and over the boundary fence. It's our fence and the previous owner used to trim it right back. Oh well, I snip away at it when it's long enough to cut!

We've done the same in the past Shirley and cut back ivy growing over on to our side.
Janey, Passionflowers are really lovely if you have the room for them to spread. That is a lovely old brick wall.

I wonder why people let it take over their gardens its a nuisance Shirley / Lindak I snip it off as much as I can I've notice it has a lot of seed heads on at the moment , I don't like using sprays but have resorted to spraying the Ivy where they are making holes through the fence in the hope it would take it down to the roots ...
