Red flowered Camellia

Janey

By Janey

Red flowered Camellia

And I'm replacing the hydrangea with this Camellia which is hoping desperately to be moved from its pot. Just need to dig over the area and add my home made compost, I'm sure it will enjoy it here. It will be west facing, so non of the browning of blooms it had suffered before in its east facing site...
I think pink and red tulips will look good here too..:))

It does look very healthy to me. I have 4 in pots, one of which is 5ft tall and could do with being in a border but we have alkaline soil. I might have to risk it - or move...

Wow, they're doing very well then Ange..5ft..
Yes, I made sure it had plenty of water during August, and the weather did too! I'll give it feed for ericaceous plants too..

It looks to be very healthy,Janey.Mine never did much in a pot,but once I moved it into a North facing border, which has a wall behind it, it gives it some shelter, and stops it drying out too much. All my shrubs in it are acid loving,so I used lots of Ericaceous compost, and feed.I'm sure yours will romp away :o)

Yes, it is Sandra, ready to go in the garden. I'll leave it a couple of weeks though, till I can get the site sorted. I'm pleased yours is happier in the ground, yes I must get some ericaceous compost too, in fact I have a Pieris that could do with some too..:))

They will both love you for it ,Janey. My Pieris lives happily next to the Camellia and a Skimmia :o)
