Another of my acers putting on her autumnal colour. (Acer Palmatum)

I had this one in a pot originally, but planted it a few years ago in this corner. Hopefully she will grow tall and lend some privacy.

Thank you Klahanie! Very kind comment. I’ve a couple of these pots/jugs, they do enhance a little corner.

A well-framed acer. Your garden seems very 'green' - what are the main shrubs in it, Kate? (I'm pinching ideas!!).

Very artistically displayed Kate, love it!

Delightful - and does the glass bauble light up?

Kate: I'm looking for a miniature acer for my front garden. Maybe one with a weeping habit and umbrella shape. Do you know of one that would fit this description? Miniature - about 4 feet tall & wide or so. This is for the Spring.

Thank you Ange, it seems happy in this position. I’ve several euonymus, variegated and not, laurel, escallonia, ceanothus, junipers a-plenty!!!!, hebe, rhododendron, pine, choisya, viburnum, skimmia, cotoneaster, osmanthus, pyracantha and box..I’m sure I’ve missed a few. ☺️
Thank you Chris! Hopefully it continues to thrive.
Thanks Shirley, it’s quite nice when the sun reaches this corner - usually early morning and then a bit later.
Thank you Sheila! It’s actually a row of little bulbs. They light up a pretty warm white but look orangey.

Paul, your best bet is one like mine which is an acer Palmatum dissectum, purchased almost 15 years ago. It’s about 3 feet roughly, by about 3 feet wide. A slow grower - definitely! It transforms to a vivid orange in autumn. It has an umbrella shape to it. It’s quite a stand alone acer really. I posted a pic of it recently with my Adirondack chair next to it. Hope this helps. To be honest, it hasn’t grown in height much, but has spread outwards in its pronounced ‘umbrella’ shape. It’s trimmed slightly if any branches are overlapping.

Thank you for the list!

Thanks Kate; the Acer Palmatum Dissectum is exactly what I envisioned and it sounds like a no fuss little tree. The fall color is a bonus. I like that it's a slow grower so I don't have to fiddle with it so much and it would stay in it's allotted space in my tiny front garden. It would be stunning against my new bright green lawn. I really appreciate your help. I know I could have googled it, but then I'd get hundreds of suggestions and that's no fun sorting through. I hope yours gives you many years of enjoyment. :)

No problem, Paul. Please I could help! I don’t usually have any idea! 😂
This particular acer is a little beauty, think it ‘viridis’ if I recall! I’ll have to double check.
I hope your lawn is standing it’s pardon the pun ‘ground’ against the weather!
I completely understand about Google...it’s overwhelming!
Best wishes 😉
