Very nice veg plot ,very tidy ...would love to grow my own veg here but not possible in my garden

We are going to do more sweet corn this year. The garlic and onions are in and the potatoes are chitting. Next are the broad beans and runners. Carrots, peas, beetroot, turnip, cabbage, kale, courgettes, herbs and fruits.

Amazing!!! My mouth is watering at the thought of all the healthy, fresh produce.

Lovely growing your own veg. Nice to eat too. Well worth all the effort.

Just yesterday I sowed the tomato seeds I had left over from last year. Hope they germinate or I will have to buy some to grow on the balcony this year.

Did you check the date on the back of the packet? They usually last a few years, Balcony.

It is nice Kate and Linda. To pick something and then cook it is great. You don’t waste anything.

The tomato seeds came free last year in a gardening trail sponsored by "Gardener's World" magazine. But the seeds didn't arrive till well into May when I'd forgotten about them! I sowed only 3 seeds & saved the rest for this year.

I generally sow my tomato seeds in the middle of March any earlier & they get too lanky & collapse as I found out to my cost some years ago when I sowed lots in February! I've since taken to sowing the on the first day of spring & the last few years have had fairly good results.

Though the best year ever, as far as I can remember of growing them on the balcony, was 2019 - the year of the highest summer temperatures recorded in the UK!

Experience is the best way to go Balcony. You sound like you have it all well under control. Let’s hope we have a good summer.

I think all the tomato seeds I sowed 5 days ago have germinated! They only take a few days in the heated propagator.

That is great Balcony.I sowed courgettes today. I also sowed Cosmos and a small Sunflower.

I've also sown a few more different varieties of seeds this last week I soon won't be able to move on the balcony! 😂
