A supermarket buy, just labelled 'Penstemon'.

You've reminded me I planted a white one in the Spring (somewhere!). Can't find a sign of it at the moment. Yours is lovely - very fresh.

Can anyone else see the little face?

Thanks Anget - I'm sure yours will pop up soon!

Julia, I never spotted that until you did - well done!

Thanks Sandra, not bad for a 'cheapie' supermarket plant!

Not bad at all Shirley.. We always seem to be able to hunt them down .:o) xx

I alway think they look like little monkey faces. As for 'cheapies' I don't usually notice them until the shelf is empty! :-((

A shame you can't come with with either myself or Shirley,Julia.I'm sure we could help you find some :o)x

The supermarkets do sometimes have hidden gems.

I'm sure you would Sandra. I always seem to do better with my shopping when I'm with you lol! ;-))

That was a good find.

This morning I was appalled to see the totally dead/dying plants on the trollies within the supermarket. They looked poorly on Friday and clearly have had no water since then (now Tuesday). I just think it's so wasteful when tomato plants/salad leaves/fruit and flowering plants will simply be thrown away.

I quite agree with you Shirley. I noticed almost a whole trolly full of bedding plants this morning absolutely gasping for water. So sad.

It's shocking Julia and I think that if the plants can't be watered outdoors, then why bother even having them for sale?

6 Jul, 2021

The thing is these supermarkets etc make such huge profits that they aren't bothered.

So true . . . :o(

Beautiful flowers! 👍😃

I bought 6 tuberous Begonias, because I felt sorry for them. They were bone dry. Now they have been watered & planted, they have perked up & showing signs of flowers.
(£2. 50). Less than half price. Trays & trays of bedding plants at Homebase, all going cheap. They must have bought in heaps too many.

Glad you like them David . . . :o)

Josie, I always think of all the schools, day centres, care homes etc. that could make such good use of these neglected plants. Just a bit of TLC, as you have shown with your Begonias!
