Dahlia from seed.

An eye-popping red kept over from last year. 'Plant World' seeds. They've been very good.

Glad you like it, Janey. I think there's some 'coccinea' in the forebears in this one. All the plants from these seeds have been stunners this year, but all variations on red or deep pink. I have a small 'splashed-orange-beige' coming through. I think that will be an unusual plant for next year, if I manage to keep it going.

Interesting to grow on Ange... I'd like pinks for next year. I have Bishop of Llandaffs just coming into bloom and some peachy oranges with no names..

Lovely and bright, Ange. A good strong red.

I have a similar one in colour, that I kept from last year, which is just coming into flower, and I love the zingy red too,Anget..Mine was from a pack of three tubers, from a cheap supermarket last year ,sadly ,the other two didn't make it through the winter, but price wise ,not too bothered :o)

Well, the seed didn't break the bank either, Bloomer, but you do have to be patient (which I'm not very often)...
