Our surprise sunflower!

It measures 3metres 28cms - a surprise because it was from a packet of low-growing ones!!!

It is in the veg' patch and has been treated with quite a lot of neglect to be honest! Most odd!!!

It was a nice surprise Kate but a lot of plants in our garden grow taller than they should do, I think it is because of the trees and the shade they give! 🌻🤔🌻

I found that too Chris when we lived in Willow Cottage surrounded by trees! Everything grew tall!

That's interesting Rose and makes sense really. Some of our Japanese Anemones are as tall as our hedge and are peeping over the top of it!!!

I love your Sunflower,Wildrose! I once won the competition for the tallest Sunflower on the allotment field! 😃 Got a bottle of rose wine as a prize! 😃

I've still got a photo that my friend, Gerry, took of the plant with me standing below it! It's at least half as high as me again! It came in at 10ft something! 😃

We have had a sunflower competition in the village but the seeds had to come from one supplier and mine weren't from him!! A little girl won anyway so I was happy to keep quiet about ours!!!
