Lovely piece. I love hares too. I looked after a leveret a very long time ago. I worked at greenhouses and they grew roses chrysanths and carnations. Long grass grew between the glasshouses and it was cut but a baby leveret was left, so the person bought the baby to me. I took it home, kept it in the spare room, fed it on special milk. I didn't handle it only to feed it. Got it on to green foods. When it was able to look after itself I took it back to the field next to the glasshouses and let it go. It used to try attacking Gerry if he came into the room. It was the best I could do for it.

It was a long time ago and can't remember but it wasn't cow's milk.

I can't imagine how lovely it must be to have hares trust you as they do your friend, Meadow. Those 'tree rats' can be a real pain. We bought some mole scarers and they (fingers crossed) seem to encouraged our pests to move on.... probably to the neighbours!
