Kumquat

I have this plant for several years and this year only two tiny kumquats. I think its a kumquats hybrid as its fruit shape is round as tiny orange (not oblong) perhaps calamondin .
The juice is tangy and the skin is edible and sweet.
That is why we do not peal them.
Kumquats are high in Vitamin C and the edible peel is very rich in fiber. There are many culinary uses for them.
I hope to get more fruit in the future and...... I love the smell of its blossoms.

Thanks Siris. They bloom and fruit at the same time all year round? I have no flowers at this moment. It is in a cooler bright room but no sun.

They are quite zesty Amy but good in cooking and drinks and also make a nice marmalade....... hopefully next year I will have a bigger crop.

That's interesting Klahanie. I just checked the leaves as we had loquats trees in the garden in Spain. The leaves were very deep veined and rough though. The scent of their blossoms was wonderful too, like baby powder. I loved Decembers there with the scent all round the garden..

Nice memories Janey, It would be wonderful to get that smell in December. I get a strong perfume from Daphne odora which is going to open its buds very soon. Unfortunately they got damaged by our frost. Leaves are completely black. I will have to prune it really drastically in the spring,

Looking fresh and healthy, Klahanie. You’ll be looking forward to fresh, homemade marmalade!

It certainly looks like my Calamondins which have ripe fruits now and flowers.
