Perfect timing . . .

Perfect timing . . .

The lawn was mown and edged before lunch today ... within half an hour there was rain/hail/thunder/lightning! 3pm now and the sun is shining ... crazy weather.

Blimey, Anget, that was quick! Michael had not cut the grass for some time while I was not at home ... following my comment on how long it looked and how scruffy the edges were he took action! No, I feel no guilt ... :o))

beautiful after the rain, the path is lovely and shiny.

Thanks Julia, Sbg and Klahanie ... hopefully that heavy rain has washed away the ant nests that were all along the path edge.

Oh, you have ants too, Shirley. We have been moving pots about and they're all full of them. I think a lot of things will need to be repotted.

It looks wonderful ,Shirley, and I love the shape of the path, and your lawn is pristine, well done Michael ! lol .

Hardly had any 'proper' Rain here, just the odd shower, which only wets the foliage,so it's been a watering job most evenings :o( Please send some of yours 'ooop'North ! :o) x

Looks so neat.

Anget, I recall many years ago somebody advised placing a J- cloth over the hole in a pot, then adding crock and whatever medium used. Hmm, wouldn't work on path edges!

Sandra, I have told Michael you think the lawn looks great, his halo is still in place! I hope you do get some rain soon ... preferably through the night ... :o)

Siris, I can be a little OCD re lawn edges .....

24 May, 2022

Ha ha,Shirley, at least you are nearby,in case his Halo should slip a little ! I know someone else, who is a little OCD about lawn edges too,and it's not me ! ..I think nail scissors might do the trick,if you have a spare hour or two ?? Lol. x

Looking good. Yes we've had a good downpour today with sunshine in between. At least the plants are enjoying the watering.....

I also have ants nests in the path edge. I disturbed it enough to expose their grubs. 5 mins later the female blackbird was filling her beak. ;o)

Everything looks lovely and neat and the damp
path looks beautiful next to the beautifully cut grass.

Lindak, no rain for us ... possibly tomorrow afternoon.

Eileen, I marvel at how hard the Blackbirds work, from dawn to dusk. The Robins seem to be as active too.

Thanks Chris, the path was created by two wonderful Polish guys who had fitted our garden fencing a few months earlier.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this view of your garden before Shirley …it looks really lovely! We’ve just had rain here too … much needed 🙂.

31 May, 2022

Sheila, I am sure I posted a photo or two of the completed path. Having checked back on blogs and photos I cannot see one now as many blogs have just the text ... :o(

This is the view from the kitchen window and back door ... :o)

Well, I obviously haven’t been keeping up. You must be very pleased with the path 🙂.

If you look to the far right of the photo, you will see a raised bed, where the terracotta ornaments are, which started off as a pond some years ago. It really didn't ever look good so we drained the pond, made holes in the liner and filled it up with soil. The guys who built the path took the curve of the ex. pond/raised bed as the line for the path. I probably would not have thought of that!

Perfection…..

Wow, what a lovely neat lawn & path. We had that rain & hail also. It was much needed, the hail left some spotted leaves behind but nothing damaging. I had fallen asleep on the settee & that clap of thunder woke me up, exactly 40
minutes. This length of time always surprises me, we must be programmed for 40 winks :-)

Hb, that's really kind of you! :o))

Josie, I think the heavy rain and hail really accentuated the path and lawn edges. That's interesting about 40 winks ... I shall investigate why it is so called!!

Looks pristine, Shirley! It’s all looking very attractive and the lawn looks good too! Very neat edging - perfection!

Kate, the lawn used to be full of moss, but after a lot of TLC it is looking much better now. As I have said earlier, I am a bit OCD over the lawn edges ... :o)
