Crocosmia 'Lucifer'.

Still upright - one of the few things that still is!

I love Lucifer, and most of mine are flopping over all the plants, shrubs in front of them,so supporting them somewhat.. others are growing through plant supports,so you are lucky that yours are still upright, despite the weather. :o) .

I sympathise, Bloomer. If you could see a lot of my other tallish perennials they all look like they're drunk. So dispiriting when they should all be at their sparkling best. Heigh-ho, British weather!

I too love Lucifer and they seem to be looking after themselves in this heat!

It's fine,Ange,I don't really mind Lucifer, mingling through other shrubs,at least I can still see them, and they aren't on the floor,,but like your taller Perennial's ,mine look like they are on'Happy Hour ' ...if only ! :o)

They do, Rose. Hope you're behaving yourself??

Yes indeed, Bloomer, 'if only'...

Love Lucifer too, I think I may have planted mine too near the wall years ago and they got too dry..
My south facing border is very faded and lavenders all flat. I'd been trying to make it a dry border which it is now, only the sedums are looking healthy..:((

I'm being driven to distraction trying to make my south-facing border presentable, Janey, and after 7 years I still haven't managed it! It's the one that faces the house and I'm running out of ideas. All the perennials look shocking.. I wish now we'd kept the grass!

Oh no. I know how hard it is, mine is in a narrow walled garden, and the extremes of temperature and lack of rainfall this summer, has just about annihilated my plants in that border. Don't wish for grass Ange, mine is looking like a stubble field. The heat does get trapped here. I think we have to think of another way of gardening those areas which are affected the most.

Good, that may be the way.

superb - I can't grow them at all

Paul, it might be worth you trying this if you like them. Most of the others in my garden struggle or die! It's a big one!
