Super flower.

It is my favorite autumn flower and really looks good when there is some sun. I bring it in a night to protect it from the slugs.

I thought it was a Daffodil too - I wondered what it was doing in the Azores! Are you anywhere near an active volcano?

It does have a huge trumpet like a daffodil, if it was on steroids. Here it is, day 4 and it is still open. For this, it needs a frost-free winter and very dry summer rest.
Just to the west of us, there is a vent in the ocean that will put up bubbles and steam. Then there are sulfur vents in the interior of the island, and São Jorge has been having thousands of small seismic quakes that they thought was a precursor to an eruption. The last eruption was on Faial in 1957.
I am going to add 2 photos of this since it is at its peak.

In the thumbnail version I thought it looked like a Daffodil! It has a much bigger flower then than the true Daffodils
