Than you, Klahanie! It’s usually trimmed by OH once a year. He’s the ‘Acer’ trimmer! He looks after the others in the garden back and front. I recall, probably around 12 years ago or so, I bought it from Tesco supermarket in the small town of Barton, over the bridge. It was a burgundy Palmatum initially, eventually it has turned completely green. It was about 2 feet high when I bought it.

Really lovely Acer. I've just trimmed our Acers ready for the winter.

They do have gorgeous colours. We have to do drastic pruning on our 'Orange Dream' as it's been 'let go' and has got huge. We're waiting 'till it's dormant and hope we don't kill it!

Thanks Linda, OH usually ‘assesses’ and prunes crossed branches etc mainly once the leaves drop.

They do stand out as pretty special in the autumn, Ange. I haven’t taken a pic of the 2 out in the front as yet.
We’ve 4 in the back, one up on the bund hill.
This one here grows fast and tall. I like it for its privacy from the neighbours also.

Thank you, Julia. The juniper underneath has been canopied, I’ve a few ferns and other plants underneath. Rob’s Dad brought the juniper back from Devon about 15 years ago, they were visiting his sister. It was quite a small starter shrub at that time.
