Amaryllis now fully open in kitchen 15th March 2023 004

Glad you like it, Wildrose! It was given to me at Christmas by my son. I planted it on Christmas Day & it has taken 2 1/2 months to flower!

A sister of mine gave me my first ever Amaryllis on Christmas Day - but exactly 40 years ago! That one took a 2 months & 1 day to open its first flower.

I love it too, I'm going to treat myself at the end of the year, that's if no one else does!..:))

You needn't wait till the end of the year, Janey! They are cheaper now & will flower about 6-8 weeks after you plant them!

My Christmas present has no more flowers left now. I deadheaded it yesterday & today I repotted it in a slightly bigger pot than the one it came in & with drainage holes in it. The pot it came planted in had no drainage holes.

I didn't think of that Balc, of course we have our central heating on in mid winter, so they are nicely warm. I shall have to see....
