Hurrah! My unattractive wooden defences have worked ! For the last 6 years the cats have especially made a beeline for this climber.Two ingredients attract them...actinidine and valerian..apparently the swee
t tea scent attracts them ...the repeated digging at the roots eventually affects the fresh green and pink foliage which dies .The climber does revitalise the following year but last Autumn we constructed a defence and by the look of the leaves it has worked..

You’ll be pleased, Julia. It’s definitely worked for you. We’re the same with shooing and deterring wood pigeons! Fortunately, we don’t see as many this past year. We sadly took our seed feeder away, but left the nut feeders. Luckily, they aren’t keen on nut droppings/bits.
