I hope so Janey. I scattered a few cosmos seeds in the ground today. We are in for a cold night tonight, but it should start getting warmer now. The Bees are visiting the flowers, so that's a good sign.

They are Linda, and I had a queen wasp trying to find her way out of the greenhouse yesterday. Good luck with your cosmos seeds, I have only one that's germinated from seeds I saved last year, I hope yours do better..

Thanks Janey.

Lovely photo Linda. I also had a Queen wasp in the greenhouse, and luckily about 15 white cosmos 4” high grown from seed. It’s probably too early to plant them out though?

You've done well Sheila. I'm not sure what's happened with mine this year, maybe not warm enough earlier to get them going.
No I wouldn't plant them out yet, end of May?
Aren't those queen wasps huge!

Yes the queen wasps are enormous Janey!
Thanks for the tip - I suspect you’re right, though they do have quite a lot of root. I’m just being impatient as usual 🙂.

I just scattered the seed and raked into the ground with the cosmos. The packet said April. Only did it a couple of days ago, so they should germinate when the ground's o.k.
