Geranium magnificum surrounding rose 'Iceberg'

Do like iceberg, I had it in the 70s, a really lovely rose, very strong. Great at dusk.

I remember Motinot - what a lovely gift and it goes so well next to Iceberg.

Janey, this Rose was just £4 in Chichester market so it really was a bargain.

Chris, I think Motinot was running a florists shop with her sister and GoY just became too much for her to keep up with.

I remember she loved dahlias..

Well remembered Janey ... I just looked back at her profile and saw that her avatar is a Dahlia! She gifted me the Geranium back in 2013, the year of her last blog. Oh my, ten years ago!

I am preparing my two manger baskets, so frustrating to line them, fill with compost etc. before even thinking of planting them up! Never mind, they give months of colour so it will be worth it ... :o)

It's the stuff that birds love to peck at for nesting material! The baskets came supplied with the liners which are looking a tad shabby in places now so I have lined the insides with old compost bags, cut to shape with drainage holes put in, hence the extra work involved. To be continued!

Thanks Kate, you may remember our wooden arch blew down in the gale so we now have a metal obelisk either side of the pathway through the border. This is a climber and the other side is Rambling Rector who I thought had died when the arch blew over, but it has re-appeared, hooray!
