Thanks Janey. There are a lot of bumblebees working hard at the moment. Sometimes I just point the camera and take a picture near to the ground. It's pot-luck as to whether the shot comes out o.k. or not.

When I tried my first hosta I was told to remove the flowers... ?? being a bit forgetful, I forgot to do so and was puzzled by the fact that the flowers are delightful..and definitely a bee magnet! I have a mini variety that has deep purple flowers. in fact, I think I have about 10 different var. and although the flowers vary in colour for each one, they are invariably gorgeous! there is an autumn blooming var. that has scented white flowers!

They are a lovely plant to have Lori, and the foliage is lovely too. They look nice in flowerbeds or pots. I do remove the stalk with the seedpods on after flowering. and yes, you are right, the bees do love them.
