How exciting! Dorset is such a beautiful county and very varied. I hope your new home is everything you want it to be.
Lovely lilies, by the way.

Karen, I did think you'd be leaving to move south sooner rather than later. You've created a beautiful garden and home, which we've all enjoyed seeing through your pics and blogs.
I do wish you lots of happiness in life and gardening when you move to lovely Dorset. Looking forward to seeing your new projects on GoY!
I'm approaching midway in a couple of years, living half my life here in East Yorkshire..time does fly. Too quickly, unfortunately.
Best wishes xxx

Thanks Ange. We will be downsizing. Property in Dorset is expensive! But we will find something that meets our needs I’m sure. And make it our own.
Thank you Kate. Your generosity always shines through in your comments. I’m so glad you joined Goy. X
Thanks Julia. It will be much smaller and much warmer I hope! X

Ooh Karen, what a big decision for you. Hard to leave the garden you have made so special, but lovely to be nearer your daughter. Dorset is a beautiful county with so many attractive villages. As a teenager I lived with my parents close to Poole harbour, and now with OH we often take breaks near the coast there.
Lots of luck with finding a property with a garden you can make your own! xx

In about 8 weeks, this garden will belong to someone else, and a new chapter begins in our life. I can only hope it will bring the new owner huge joy and sanctuary. Once I go, I will never return to see it again. I move forward and hope to find my own new creative space. This is the third garden I have created from scratch and passed on to a new owner. That has to be something worthwhile doesn’t it? Leaving your patch of Earth more beautiful than when you found it, and passing something truly nurturing and beautiful on. Having said that…this one will be sad to leave. 10 years of hard work and love, not to mention the financial investment. I have 8 more weeks to soak it up. It’s butterfly time…the best time of year in this garden. So I will try to enjoy it while I can. I’m leaving Scotland, after 35 good years. I’ve lived here longer than I’ve lived in England. It’s time to address that imbalance. I am, will always be an English girl! I’m going ‘home’. It’s going to be amazing…new adventures, new climate, new plants and a whole new county to explore. We are moving to Dorset!
