As there are so many Grapes this year I was advised to cut away quite a lot of foliage to allow for air circulation.

Thanks Klahanie, those are on one of the two uprights that support the pergola attached to the wall of our bungalow. The Grapes are incredible this year, spread across the whole vine.

Klahanie, they are quite sour, full of pips and have only ever been turned into grape juice once. A lot of effort for very little return though. I would have to use a great deal of imagination to think I was in the Med. ... :o))

You can definitely imagine yourself in the Med, Shirley!!! I try often! : - D
It's a wonderful crop you have for the wildlife, it must be lovely to see them enjoy the fruit.

Kate, most years there are Blackbirds, Starlings and Sparrows coming in to feast on the grapes. Brilliant to watch them from the lounge doors.

A very attractive and generous offering, Shirley. I like the leaves as much as the fruits.

Thank you Ange ... the leaves sometimes do have wonderful colours and patterns in the Autumn.

Great photo Shirley! Haven't your vines done well, that's a shame that they're sour, but I bet the birds and wasps will be smiling..:)

Janey, I sat beneath the vine this afternoon and saw a Wasp landing on many of the green ones so he wasn't the brightest Wasp as so many of the fruits are almost ready and purply/black now! I also spotted some spider webs across the foliage.

Julia, it's not something I have ever done before, but some of the leaves were developing sooty mould (I think that's what is was!) so it seemed sensible to lose some of them.
