I did the same to this as the winter Jasmine. Mid summer it was growing far too wide, so I gave it a good prune thinking well there won't be any flowers now come November. It's grown quite tall and nicely narrow with so many flower bracts, I'm really pleased!

Thanks Ange, yes, it's Mahonia charity. There are new flower bracts I noticed today, which means it should be flowering for quite a while..

I have Mahonia Charity Janey, but it seems to be hidden by other shrubs and sometimes forget it is there! x

I know what you mean Rose and all year it's just green and prickly.
