Cleared part of a border.

In the gaps I shall plant some Alstroemerias and a Salvia. This is all part of my low maintenance gardening for the future!

Lindak, they sure are as last year the Salvias were so popular with the Bees. I took cuttings of S. 'Hot Lips' and all have come through the bad weather ... :o)

It will look lovely especially with Alstromerias.

Thanks Rose, I have 3 Alstroemerias potted up, ready to be planted when the temperatures are a bit more steady.

The cuttings from Salvias seem easy to root. Glad your Salvias have grown well for you Shirley.

Thanks Klahanie, today I have cleared a little more as the sun was shining. Many Forget-me-nots are now in the compost bin as they had spread so much.

Lindak, they are a good enough size to plant out but I am still leaving it for another couple of weeks as don't trust our weather.

Best thing Shirley, you don't want to lose them after you've given them so much care. One of my neigbours has given me a packet of assorted Cosmos. I am planting them next month and keeping them inside until they grow then putting them out in May if the weather's not too cold.

Sounds like a plan ...

Thanks Kate, I was able to get some good compost out of the 'Dalek' bin this morning, hope to spread it over the border tomorrow, if there is no rain.

Josie, we rarely get two dry days in a row! I have been able to go out this morning to deadhead Hellebores and remove the old brown flower heads from a Hydrangea.
