That's pretty, Shirley. Do you keep your acid-lovers in pots?

This, and a Pieris, are happy in the same West facing border, but I do have a couple of other Pieris in pots in 50/50 garden/ericaceous soil.

Klahanie, might it be an omen that my screensaver picture has just changed to a Hummingbird?!!

Thanks Julia, I did trim some of the lower stems a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps I spurred it on ...

Such a pretty shrub Shirley!

Thanks Janey, a New Zealand shrub apparently.

They must be a lovely sight to see, nicer than the clumsy Pigeons and Seagulls that come to my garden.

This is a really attractive shrub, Shirley. Those pinkish red buds opening to those pretty yellow flowers! Lovely!

Thanks Kate, this was an impulse buy way back in 2015. I knew nothing about the plant but just loved it!

That’s so pretty.

Thanks Hb ...

Can you believe they changed its name, and it’s called Tasmanniana or something now. I’ll always call it Drimys. This one is ever so pretty.

A beautiful shrub, Shirley! 😆

Karen it is so annoying when plant names are changed. Like yourself, this will always be a Drimys!

Thanks David, it seems happy in a West facing border.

Mine in Scotland faced east and west and it was always lovely. Tougher than given credit I think.

Thanks David, I have just checked around the garden to see if the dreadful wind and rain overnight has done any damage. Nothing seems out of place, phew!

Karen, we have resorted to watching 'Around the world in 80 gardens' with Monty Don to get some sunshine in our lives!
Australia and New Zealand were fabulous episodes. Watch it on iPlayer if you too need some warmth!

Good idea. But I’ve already watched it twice! Still….
