Such beautiful greens, Kate, my idea of perfection! Any chance of a photo of the garden 'in the round'? (Cheeky request, I know!) My alliums are all out, too. Such a lovely surprise on our return from a few days away.

My aliums have just popped up and your lawn puts mine to shame Kate.

Thank you, Karen! I got 'into' them myself many years ago, after a patient gave me a few. Now OH loves them.
The little pine is one of many OH planted in the past year, thanks for liking. Pleased you like the border too :-))

Aw thanks so much, Ange. I do like cloud pruning some of the evergreens..I find it very relaxing. Hope you enjoyed your lovely holiday! Bet it was lovely to see some new spots around the country too. Have you had a chance to plant up all your new purchases yet? Very exciting!
Ange, I'd love to show a pic of the garden in full..but it'd disappoint! I would spoil the illusion of having much more than I actually have!!!! Maybe I will post though..once our scaffolding disappears after the building work is finished ; - ))

Oh Rose, I'll bet your lawn looks good! Ours is so tiny, we have to keep on top of it. Plus, it is so easy to manage as it doesn't take long!

Oh, how exciting - new building work!
I haven't worked up the energy for planting yet. We have a few decisions to make about that. And the weeding to do!

Ange, the scaffolding went up on Friday. Its a roof job. OH always disliked the differing pitches of two roofs at the back. One is a later addition when we added a snug extension from 12 years ago. So he always fancied a flush roof all the way across. The extension roof will now be vaulted with a motorised velux window.
Plus, while they're there, we decided to change the 2 back bedroom windows also.
Lots of decorating and refurbishment afterwards, which will be fun...but parents coming mid July. So, we'll be at it every minute we have spare, trying to get it all done!
Hope you enjoy deciding where all your new plants are going! It's all very exciting!

Good luck with your endeavours, Kate.

Hope your roofing work has gone o.k. Yes, the Alliums are great to grow. My ones have just finished so I've cut the seedheads off.

Thanks Ange and Linda, kind of you both. Yes, all looking good here, although the scaffolding has been overwhelming! Having a small back garden makes it feels quite imposing.
Hopefully it'll be gone in a couple of days.
All looking good despite the dust and untidiness. OH and I spent Friday evening tidying and cleaning plus we took up the protective floor covering in the extension and replaced it before the builders return on Monday to 'tidy up etc'. Roof tiles going on and right across on Monday hopefully.
Grass next to the house will need returfing. It'll be great to see the garden properly again next week!!!
