Hi Karen, thanks for your kind comments. I try to do my best and this year I am packing the colour in gradually. We have four different tomatoes, but my favourite one is a green and red striped one called Tigerella. Lovely sweet taste and has a soft skin too. If you haven't got a greenhouse, you can always start them off in a conservatory or window.

That's a pretty snap! Love the summery feel, Linda.
I just can't keep French Lavender, it never thrives..English Lavender certainly does fortunately!

Thanks Kate, we made a small border on the edge of the small veggie plot. I shall cut the flowers off when they finish and hope that it survives the haircut.....

Thanks Linda. Yes, that’s what I did..on the windowsill. Tigarella are one of most successful for me too. Huge cropper and a bush, so much easier.

Hope they grow well for you Karen. Ours have flowers on, so we give them a gentle tap, then later spray them with water to set the flowers.

Great tip! Thank you. I often wondered why my neighbour insisted on watering the plants rather than the soil. Now I know why!

We use a hand spray when we spray the flowers, as it's more gentle on them than a hose pipe.

Your garden looks full of promise Linda! I ended up giving all but one of my seed grown tomatoes away because I had ordered the outdoor collection from Sarah Raven. When they arrived (late) they were very small. But I dare say they will catch up. So I now have one tall strong young tomato that I grew myself from seed and 10 small seedlings. But they are growing well and it’s good to have a variety of fruits.
