Most of the ones I grew from seed and planted out as good strong flowers were eaten.

Thanks David, it is currently standing up to heavy rain and wind. I shall be surprised if it stays standing by the morning ... :o(

Yes, exactly! We had a torrential downpour yesterday evening and some roads around Worthing and Chichester were flooded ... welcome to July in England!

Thanks Kate, I'm not going to bother sowing Sunflower seeds next year jut for the slugs to feast on them ... :o(
