Runner beans have started to produce and we've had 2 feeds from them...P1140357

I haven't grown any this year Linda as the last two, they just didn't grow well. Probably not the right site for them. Do love them though.

Sometimes the sparrows peck at the flowers, but they have left them alone this year. We give the plants a gentle sprinkle of water once in the daytime to help set the flowers. These are in a sunny position, Janey, so if it's on the dry side, we give them a good watering. We start to grow them in pots in the greenhouse to give them a good start, then plant them out. Yes they are tasty Kate. I've given some to the neighbours too and tomatoes are producing well.
