Yes Janey, we've had a few apples already and I made an apple sponge. Everything seems to be happening about 3/4 weeks earlier than usual. We've saved a few cardboard boxes and newspapers to store them in when they are ready.

This is a Cobra, Cox's Bramley mix. We have two espalier apple trees too that we grow along the shed and greenhouse. We prune them now then take off any shoots that we don't want in the winter.

That's very interesting Linda. If I ever move, I'll have an apple tree in the garden. Is this one both a dessert apple and a cooker?

Yes Janey it is and it's a stunted one that doesn't grow too tall. The espalier trees are good to grow in a small space.
