Colchicum (Naked Ladies)

Shirley_tulip, I have lots of these but none of them out yet.
Usually there are coming out at this time of the year.

How I love them Shirley. So pretty for this time of year and on a day like this, grey with mizzling rain..:(

Klahanie, I have no idea when I planted these but they are a pleasure to see year after year. Yours will be in bloom when mine are finished!

Janey, we have driven through giant puddles today, at times had to go to the middle of the road to avoid the huge ones!

Kate, I think we are due to have a mix of sun and showers this weekend. Let's hope for more sunshine!

We have really warm days for this time of the year and no rain yet....very dry. Today forecast is 30 deg. Celsius and tomorrow even warmer. I hope they show up before rain starts because then it will not stop raining(usually) until spring.

Klahanie, there was so much rain today here on the South coast that many local evening football games have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches!

Parts of my garden that usually stay dry are soaked ... really unusual.

I like rain but not too much of it Shirley_tulip. I've finally noticed few colchicums getting out of the ground. Hopefully we will not get rain in the next week that I can see them in their full beauty.

In that case I hope it stays dry for you ... :o)

They are lovely, Shirley! I've never grown them myself but I know of a couple of gardens around town where I see them flower every year.

David, I was surprised just now (10.40 am) to see many more of them, all upright in the sunshine, despite it being very cold. They must be hardy little things ... :o)
