Just a couple of days ago the butterflies were enjoying this old buddleia. Then the temps dropped and the hailstones covered the garden. I wonder where they shelter when it's so bad?

Those Butterflies are stunning. I wanted to know where they shelter and found this information:
Some butterflies and moths ride out storms with high winds, heavy rain and falling temperatures by seeking shelter. Refuges include the underside of leaves and tree limbs, leaf debris, crevices in rocks and clumps of tall grass. Winter storms will send some species climbing higher in tree limbs for added protection from cooler temperatures closer to the ground.
I saw a Red Admiral recently sunning itself on our car roof ... it's a white car so perhaps it absorbed the heat that day.

Janey, sunny and warm here too. I have seen three white butterflies around this morning plus a Red Admiral in the vine again. Plenty of Bees on the Sedums too ... hooray!

Beautiful capture, Janey! Hoping the lovely butterflies found shelter, I'm sure they would have a spot nearby.
