The flowers do add a bit of pop to shaded spaces.

Do you know if the flowers are edible like on Costus barbartus?

Delonix, I did not know that about the flowers. Not sure I'm going to try them though! :)

They taste like a sweet and sour lemon.

I saw a Youtube video of a Costus ‘Yellow Belize’ in a food forest in Fresno, CA. I looked it up and it appears to be an Australian Costus hybrid. The cones on this guy’s Costus ‘Yellow Belize’ were double the size you see on internet pics.
