This is my ‘James Grieve’ apple. I think fruit tree blossoms are so special.

Last year we had 2 apples, and Niamh harvested them about a month too early! I hope she will be able to understand this year, that we need to wait. It’s hard for children. Iused to eat apples when they weren’t even fully grown, let alone ripe. And that was age about 12!

Lovely to see the apple blossom. We lost two of our trees to woolly aphids. Gerry tried his hardest to combat it, but in the end we had the trees dug out. We still have a small espalier but even that has the aphid.

Thanks Linda. I shall keep an eye out. I’m very handy with a soapy spray. :)
