You are quite right, Janey! This one came from a lady at our church who had just recently got married. When they moved into their house she decided this rose didn't go with the colour scheme for her new garden. She offered it to anyone that might like it on the church's WhatsApp Freecycle group & I saw it & asked for it. She gave it to me & now it's flowering.

A WhatsApp Freecycle group is a really good idea and you've got yourself a very nice rose Balc.

Thanks, Janey! :) It's actually the 2nd time I've grown a 'Masquerade' rose. The first time was way back in 1980! I trained a climbing 'Masquerade' rose along the back fence in our garden so it could be seen from our kitchen window. It really only survived a year or so because the winter of 80/81 I think was one of those "once-in-a-lifetime" ones, (I've lived through at least 3!), which killed off the rose. I never got to see it flowering properly. ;(

Lovely Balc. I had this in my old garden and it's colours range from the gold to orange to red, it's a really pretty one.
