When the BBC film crew come at the end of September they will be taking a view of the house with the Virginia Creeper in all its autumn glory. The begonias should still be in full colour, too. Then, in the next four weeks, we have to remove all the flowering plants (mostly in containers, luckily) so that the film crew can return to take the garden with its autumn foliage at the end of October.
That's why the garden next door is so important and we are working like maniacs to clear it. We will quickly take all the containers through and deal with them there. In other years I have put all the tiered baskets and other containers at the back of the borders during the winter and spring. Usually, our first open days are in May and the foliage hides the metal work. Next year we plan to open in February and in March - so there's no chance of hiding anything!

Your garden still leaves me speechless with wonder every time I look at it.
