Illinois Bundleflower

I purchased this native wildflower back in 2002 and transplanted the mature plant in 2006 and it died. Luckily I still have a few seedlings in the first bed and this one bloomed this year. The leaves and flowers resemble the Mimosa or Silk Tree. All parts of the plant are very high in protein making them excellent for wildlife.+

Coral plant ! I had to look that one up. I'll bet you're so glad you got that cutting ! That's why I like to have at least 2 of everything if possible.
And you're welcome about the descriptions. I figure every little tip or bit of info could help a fellow gardener.

Asking a question about Berberidopsis Corallina is how I was introduced to GoY.
So I have an extra reason for liking this plant.

Thanks for yet another useful description under a photo.
When a mature plant dies, isn't is great when you have offspring from it to carry on instead!
I lost a Berberidopsis Corallina, but I have a cutting in a pot which is thriving.
