I know what you mean Amy. I lost my Labrador whose name was Sweetpea so I planted a Sweetpea bush in my backyard in her honor. Every time I see it, it reminds me of her.

I,m sorry to hear that you lost an old friend as well Gardengnome , it,s very sad when this happens , I know it,s silly but when I walk past that statue of Barney I touch his head and tickle under his chin and talk to him , I think I must be crackers or do other people do this ?

Amy ~ I don't think you're crackers at all!
Sounds like Barney was a wonderful dog.
I reckon we never quite get over losing any pet ~
I certainly don't ~
just sort of adjust to carrying on without them.
But I then get new pets which are also wonderful in their own way.
It's that saying again :
The only thing wrong with our pets is that their lives are too short.
Beautiful statue. You must have some lovely memories of Barney.

We've had six Siamese (in pairs) over the past years. And we still remember and talk about them - it's not at all crackers, but if it is we're crackers too. Kept seeing them out of the corner of our eyes, in the garden and in the house, after they'd gone.

Beautiful statue Amy, I think it's great that you do this, it keeps him with you and not forgotten. That's strange Magtree, we had this happen to us in our old house, once friends came and opened the door for our old kitty, so it wasn't just us.....mind you....the house had it's own spirit too.

Thankyou all , :)
He was so knowing , full of mischief , gentle to , if we had friends round and we said to him in a jokey way , " pull his sock off Barney " he would gently nibble the end of the big toe untill he had a loose bit and then pull the sock off , everybody loved him .
He always knew if one of us was upset he would lay his head on your lap and gaze up at you with his big eyes .
I am getting silly I must stop LOL
