I took this picture two days ago. This is a common plant for semi-shaded gardens. The plant can grow to around 12 feet tall.

This plant is very easy from cuttings and I'm sure it would grow very well
where you live. They like a lot of water though.

I didn't say this...but they are very easy from cuttings....you may need to take a trip to Flecker Bontanical Garden. LOL.
Here is they are commonly sold in most nurseries.
