Good Luck Arlene, No the Ghouse is unheated, ill fleece them. Im hoping one of them is white :) Start them off indoors, mine were in the spare Bedroom in a propogator all winter, Facing the Window, my Biggest Problem was Light, I had to turn them, Often because they were searching for light..

~depending how many I get you may be able to have one of mine next year-I had a a packet of seed a few years ago and had about a dozen pale mauve which I gave away to everyone and then lost mine!

Great, Dee. I thought yours may be a bit too late to flower this year now but I already moved my flowering one into the g.house and it is still kicking flowers out like springtime in the Rockies. I bought some pink and some mauve seed after Walnut sent us the yellow ones and several germinated. They were a lot after his though so I'll have to keep them alive over winter (they grew quite big so no room in the g.house) and see next year which are which. A couple of slow starters are small enough to have in the house for 6 months.

Hi John, I also thought it was too late for mine to flower, if I had left them outside they probably wouldn't have survived, dont know how i would manage without my Greenhouse.. Sounds like yours is full to Brimming :) im thinking of planting one of my brugs outside in my new Tropical border next year. Eeek. Maybe leave it over winter !!!! sweating just thinking about it hehe.. the Pink and Mauve sound Lovely, They will look great together in your garden next year...and Does'e Boss Lady know your bringing Plants back into the hose :))))

Dee. Boss lady has noticed a couple of baby brugs have moved in plus of course the sick cycad and a few seedlings but admits that they are nothing compared to pre g.house days when I had about 40 baby palms, 20+ cycads, 4 largish (and very spiny) puyas and about 50 other tender plants in the kitchen and living room. Good job she never goes into my office. LOL.

Oh yea..., Wish you were a betting gal too, Dee. Because I would have won the bet. I believe I posted a few weeks ago that I thought it might be yellow ! I can almost smell it's wonderful evening fragrance from here !

Alright, I'm hooked, do you know if these respond well to having their growing tips pinched out to encourage bushiness,

Never heard of anybody nipping one out Funky. All the ones I have seen bush up naturally so can't really help you. Sorry.

Its my first attempt with the Brugs Funky, I snapped one and its growing new leaves and i know you can cut them right down to ground level if you want to but id say no to the growing tips being pinched out for bushiness, in time they branch out anyway, Treelike, and thats the look im aiming for.. hope this helps..Dee..

I have about a dozen of these in a cold greenhouse that I take care of. They can be chopped off any time after summer. They root easily. Mine are approaching 10 feet tall, so I will chop them back again.

Last year the owner provided no heat and the pipes froze and most of the houseplants as well. Ficus benjamina, fiddleleaf ficus, all the bananas and so much more. It was a pain cleaning it all up. What surprised me, was that the most common large leafted Ficus survived. So did the Brugmansias, Asperagus fern, Begonias and a few things that I would not have expected. I thought they all were toast.

"This Brug is from my Oct 07 sowing, " My question, did your greenhouse plant ever set seed? None of mine have. I even put a mason bee nest in the greenhouse. It is huge and has 3 avocado's and a fig tree growing in it.

Well done Dee.....am going to give the Angel's trumpets a go in the spring.....will they still flower do you think...as I've missed the Autumn sowing?

I planted mine indoors, in a propagator, just before Christmas last year Janey. They started flowering in July this year. Anywhere warm would do. Just give them warmth and light and they should flower next year. I just planted some doubles (no - brugs, not whisky) last week on a window sill above a radiator. I have no worries that they will germinate. Cuttings are easier but I couldn't get the ones I wanted so got the seed from Ontario no problem. No doubt if they all germinate Dee will want one. LOL.

Oh that sounds great John.......something to look towards after Xmas!..I used to have a white one years ago...growing in a pot in our old conservatory but bought it as a small plant.....and the scent from the flowers well............:o)

I have obtained a cutting of one of these it is 3" tall with two leaves. Fingers crossed it will one day get as big as yours.

Brilliant TT, yours should get as big as mine, my tallest (yellow) was only sown Oct 07..I think its the size of the pot you grow it in.. and Good Luck janey..

I used to grow these when I had a bigger garden with a big greenhouse. I put them outside for the summer months and fed them every other week. I took cuttings every year. They are lovely and the smell in the evening used to attract the moths. Just be careful about the sap as it can be an irritant, so use gloves when seccateuring.

I'm hoping that mine will do it next year.
Supposed to be pure white.
