I have one in my kitchen, it is years old it used to be my Nans when she was alive, it is over 40yrs old now.

Isn't it strange how common names for plants and flowers vary from country to country - "mother-in-law's tongue" here in Italy is what you call the Christmas Cactus ....

Thanks ladies, yes strange indeed how the names vary, its known as Mother in laws tongue here, like some mother in laws we may know... :-)

They also have the common name -- snake plant. These plants grow commonly in the landscape everywhere in the low elevations of California. I have seen established plants over 6 feet tall in huge clumps. Supposedly, they only grow to 4 feet from what I've read...however, don't always believe what you read. LOL.

I have this plant too.To where I live it is commonly called sword plants.
This plant is called Sansevieria trifanciata laurentii.
