This actually grows in a bush, which I prune occasionally.

Panther,

Do you know the name of this plant? We have these plants in San Diego also in this same color.

I purchased a Colville's Glory (Colvillea racemosa) about 4 months ago and it had this plant growing in the same pot. It finally bloomed yesterday and the flower is mauve-pink instead of the common purplish-blue flowers.
Have you seen this plant with mauve-pink flowers?

Hi Delonix1, I am not sure what the name is called, but yes I have seen the same plant with white flowers. Just upload a picture for us to see it in the pink you have please, must be nice :-)

I will do that soon...it is in a little pot and I need to find a place in the ground to plant it soon.

Panther,

This plant is a Ruellia species. I know there are many species and hybrids.

Thanks very much Delonix 1. I did a check on it and you are right, the flowers are very much a ruellia species.
