I love this pic Eileen. Thats one thing that we have noticed here lately. The smaller birds seem to have disappeared. We always have some Robins around when we are digging, but there was no sign last week when I did the strawberry bed. I even had mealworms waiting for him. No sparrows or even the little wren that hides in our passion flower. No blue tits. Trouble is so many Magpies. Him indoors, sometimes goes up to the back bedroom window with his air rifle. Managed to bag a few of them but still plenty more {shhhh} they are such a menace Been raining all day here, how about you

after just moving house I placed some robin food on the birdtable and we have one very perky robin then on the second day we had the biggest robin that I have ever seen visit the table. I think I shall call him robust robin. We have coal tits bluetits great tits and a very large flock of starlings with a few sparrows thrown in. I did hear a noise last week of what I thought was frogs croaking and it got noisier and noisier and I looked up into the clear sky to see two buzzards talking to each other in what sounded like frog language. I have never heard that before.

Hi M,
we have all the little birds in the garden and a pair of magpies, they nest in the tree at the back of my garden, they have been there for about 5 yrs now, every spring they have their young, these ones dont seem to bother the other birds that come into the garden

Lindak, are you settling in to your new home aye?
sounds like you will get a lot of birds coming in to that garden. big and small ...... just hope your bird table will hold a pair of buzzards lol.
never heard them making that noise but then again ive never been lucky enough to see them flying overhead

We are still in clutter but it feels like home. The electric cooker is getting on a bit, but I can cook on it o.k. I just have to re-adjust the cooking times a bit. Can't wait to grow a few veggies again in the spring even if it's a few tomatoes in pots under the car port and a pot with runner beans in.
