your frangipani is beautiful. Panther How old is it. I brought some seeds from T&M 2 years ago. to try. Only managed to germinate 1 seed from a pkt, of 8. Its now two years old and about 2 feet tall but alas, as yet, no sign of a flower so I dont even know what colour it will be. I just have this 1 "stick". Do you know much about them Panther Any advice? Do they ever branch out? How tall will it get before I see a flower? Milky alias Maureen

Thanks Maureen and Skippy. Some answers to your question Maureen, is that you need to keep your soil moist and the plant needs sunlight, they flower all year through here because of the tropical climate. It actually grows into a tree, I will send you a pic of this soon.

This tree is Plumeria obtusa - commonly called the Singapore Plumeria (its evergreen). The tree usually referred to as the Frangipani is usually Plumeria rubra, there's many color varieties available...this is the plant that is usually grown as a houseplant in the more temperate zones...it goes deciduous in the winter and need to be kept completely dry when dormant or it will rot quickly and die. Plumeria obtusa is just too difficult and tropical for the temperate zones even as a house plant (because they need so much intense sun). In a greenhouse they would grow well though.

I have about 20 varieties of Plumeria rubra and also 3 Singapore plumerias...I used to belong to the Southern California Plumeria Society for several years.
Some of my varieties are: Somoan Fluff, Celadine, Pink Pastel, Kimo, Plastic Pink, Aztec Gold, California Sunset, Hilo Beauty, Los Angeles Lady, Thai Rainbow, Mele Pa Bowman, Cancun Dream, Tricolor, India, and Hawaiian Red.
