Crossandra infundibuliformis 'orange' - Firecracker plant

how tender is this one? i would love one of these the flowers look lovely.

This plant is native to Sri Lanka and throughout Southern India. They are very tropical plants. I've had them in the ground for a year and a half...they are flowering more this year than last. I'm just amazed how well they have been tolerating our very hot dry weather the last month. They really prefer hot and humid weather. I'm curious though, now that they become established if they will bloom throughout Winter. Last year they stopped blooming late December or early January.

I have some older pics posted in Sept. when they were in full-bloom.

A great plant to add a different texture to the garden...

It is a beautiful plant that should grow to at least 4 feet tall. It does have a great flower spike texture and the flowers are bright orange and fade to the light yellow or apricot color. It is available in many other colors such as red, salmon, yellow and pink. It also grows anywhere as an annual plant.
