Apologies for the quality of the photo. It was taken through the kitchen window at a distance of about 40' away! I have zoomed in as far as possible so some quality is lost. But it has made me very happy!

Are these very rare there? Looks similar to our Carolina Wren. Great little birds. Fab shot.

Hi Wohlibuli - yes, your Carolina wrens look very much like our wrens. They are not rare here but move so quick it is hard to spot them sometimes. They are usually just under 10cm. They are often called Jenny Wrens (not sure why). My granddaughter is named Jenny and her pet name is Wren!

Carolinas are very curious and will come inside if you leave the door open too long. When I worked at the DIY store we had them inside the store a lot. One time we had a red tailed hawk fly in after one. These hawks are about 15 inches and scared lots of the customers. We had to call a rescue society to come get it! Exciting times!
