Thanks for all the nice comments. I took this picture at dusk, but it looks quite light out.
The middle section was built in 1830 and is 1 and a half stories. The right side was added on around 1890 and is 3 stories high (not counting the cellar) The left section we added around 1998 and is one level. We bought the house in 1985. It was uninhabited by humans ( a fox lived in the loft in the back room, along with birds and other rodents) for a couple of years. When we bought it, we had no heat, septic, kitchen or bathroom. It's come a long way. Luckily my husband is talented and is able to do most anything. So it has been a labor of love for a very long time. Our property has 10 acres. I love to landscape and spend almost every hour outside in the summer.
Happy New Year:)

Imagine how many people have lived in and loved your home since 1830. Lots of hard work for you and your Mr. but well worth it. The results are georgeous!
Happy New Year!

If only the walls could talk. ..
When we bought this house 23 years ago, everyone told us it was haunted. We haven't ever seen or heard any ghosts. Sometimes I wish it did so I could learn about the people that lived here when it was new.

Thanks Janey,
I do love this house as we have put so much of our heart and soul into it. Now I have time to work outside. I am lucky to be a teacher and have the summers to work in my gardens. When we moved here the only landscaping were the 200 year old maples in the front yard.
