the only difference i've noticed is, datura flowers point upwards....unless u know different...lol

Marguerite, the difference between Brugmansia and Datura...well, Brugmansia grows larger and has larger flowers and leaves and live much longer. Generally, Datura species are annuals native to the more temperate parts of the Americas...and like Sandra says their flowers are more upright or horizontal.
