ah thanks BB, i knew it was too big to be a sparrow lol but wasnt sure exactly it was

We have a pair feeding in the garden at the moment.As a child my father worked on the forestry and we found a dunnocks nest with a cuckoos egg in it.We went back some weeks later and watched this poor bird stand on its giant baby, trying to feed it Lol

Another name is the "Hedge accentor" they are lovely little birds. We get regular visits from then in our garden.

Nice photo Eileen ,does your Robin always chase this little bird? The ones in my garden have a bit of a hard time with the Robins here...

Oh yes Eileen..its a dunnock....often called a hedge sparrow but no relation.The pinky legs and different beak show the difference between them. One of the cuckoos favourite birds to dump its young on.
